Cristie Lee Kearny
I am a writer and director. I have a heart for kids in tough circumstances and a desire to help them through those circumstances through theatre. I love making people smile, and cry, and think, sometimes all at the same time.
A theatre graduate from Cornish College of the Arts, I have directed and produced numerous plays, for the Toronto Theater Festival, Taproot Theatre, the Word Players, and the Snoqualmie Falls Theater.
I wrote and directed numerous plays for Church at the Center and Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church including the Emperor's New Clothes, They Came from Planet Rx and The Rainy City Comicon Caper.
I have taught acting and improv classes for children in Atlanta, Knoxville and currently for Stone Soup Theatre in Seattle.
I have a knack for developing acting talent in folks with no experience, old and young.
Technical Director and actor, I have been making theatre with Cristie from the very beginning, at least our beginning. A BA from Yale University, BFA from Cornish College of the Arts, as well as MDiv and DMin from Columbia Theological Seminary, I have worn many hats. However my favorite is the Acting hat. For me, Theatre puts it all together--heart, soul, mind, imagination, fun, God, the devil, humankind, big ideas as well as puns and prat falls.
